The article emphasises that a HVACR industry shortage is predicted in the U.S. of over 138,000 employees by 2022. The article then goes on to provide tips on finding quality employees and how each tip would be beneficial to a business owner and/or employer in the industry.
These tips include but are not limited to: retaining existing talent, using social media, taking suggestions from current employees, recruiting at community colleges, and using staffing or recruitment agencies.
In regards to retaining existing talent, the article emphasises the importance of benefit packages, perks, training and a workplace environment that motivates employees to stay with their business or company they work for.
In regards to using social media, the article emphasises that it is a resource that is broad and diverse, and provides a large audience to promote a business and connect with a large amount of potential employees. The article also recommends business owners and/or employers add a “hiring” page to their websites.
In regards to taking suggestions from current employees, the article emphasises that current employees would have a vested interest in working with people who are the right fit for the business, and would know the work ethic of anyone that they recruit or think should be recruited.
In regards to recruiting at community colleges, the article emphasises that local community colleges with a HVACR curriculum are a “valuable resource for talent” as the potential employees have already chosen to make a career in the industry.
