Kevin O’Shea- PresidentKevin O’Shea’s career in the industry began through a refrigeration and air conditioning apprenticeship in the UK. He was employed by Stern Refrigeration and later Star Refrigeration, gaining valuable experience in all aspects of refrigeration work, including ammonia. Arriving in Australia in 1977, he worked for Hall-Thermotank on large systems. A year later he started up Marine Refrigeration Services Pty Ltd. Cold Rae Air Conditioning and Refrigeration was acquired in 1979. His company’s main activities embraced servicing the shipping industry in Sydney, as well as clubs, hotels, and industrial refrigeration. Kevin has had extensive involvement in the industry throughout the years on various boards and institutions, which include but are certainly not limited to: the Vocational Training Tribunal, the NSW Electrotechnology Group Apprenticeship Scheme, the NSW Electrotechnology Skills Centre, WorldSkills, Refrigerant Reclaim Australia, and various licensing and qualification committees. Kevin has also been recognised for his extensive involvement in the industry, being awarded the Doug Staniforth Award in 1997 and being inducted into the ARBS Hall of Fame in 2012. Kevin is the current President of RACCA Australia and RACCA NSW.

Larry Moore- Secretary of RACCA SALarry is the Executive Director of the National Electrical & Communications Association (NECA) SA Chapter and has been the secretary of RACCA SA for 15 years. He served his apprenticeship as an electrical fitter at General Motors Holden, working in an industrial engineering maintenance and construction environment for some 28 years. Larry has a very keen interest in vocational education standards and is the current Chair of the SA Industry Skills Board (EWSB) and Director of the national Industry Skills Council (E-OZ Training Standards) Larry has also been a Director of the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) and represents the electrical industry on the NOLS Occupational Licensing Advisory Committee (OLAC) for refrigeration/air conditioning. |
