Efficient Energy GmbH, a German company that prides itself in sustainable refrigerant technology, has unveiled an eChiller that uses pure water (R718) as a refrigerant. The eChiller will be based in Munich’s University of Applied Sciences and will be used primarily for data centre cooling in a hybrid system.

By using water as a refrigerant, this technological advancement reduces power consumption up to 70% and offers an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional methods that possess global warming potential.
