Mitsubishi Electric has become the first air conditioning manufacturer to build aluminium heat exchangers in its products.
These world first aluminium heat exchangers will be made in Mitsubishi’s VRF products, specifically the new City Multi YLM.
The City Multi YLM is designed to offer more piping, contact with the fins and contact with the refrigerant, as well as being more environmentally friendly than its predecessors. This is achievable as the aluminium heat exchangers offers 30 percent more piping, 17 percent more contact with the fins and 26 percent more contact with the refrigerant. The City Multi YLM is more environmentally friendly as the refrigerant volumes are 10 percent smaller than its predecessors.
Other design features of the City Multi YLM include a compressor to optimise efficiency during part load and reducing standby consumption, a bellmouth grille to help airflow and a zinc coating to prevent corrosion.
The City Multi YLM models vary in capacity and size. Capacity ranges from 22-101 kW and multiple models can be connected to the largest model. The smallest model, which measures at 740 x 920 x 1710mm is small enough to be transported in an average building lift.
Although it is already available in Japan, Mitsubishi Electric will be launching the City Multi YLM in Europe at Chillventa next week.
