The Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors Association (AMCA) have identified their policy priorities for this year to Climate Control News.
According to Climate Control News’ report, AMCA have identified five priorities in their 2016 Policy Platform, these priorities are: rethinking the models of procurement and fairer contracts, unlocking the innovative potential of building information modelling (BIM), empowering the built environment to deliver net zero emitting buildings, a more dynamic VET system with industry at its centre, and safer, healthier & more productive workplaces.
AMCA Executive Director, Sumit Oberoi, also focused on the need for a dedicated Federal Minister for Building and Construction, due to financial risks that subcontractors constantly face, as well as the traditional approaching to contracting inhibiting innovation.
AMCA has detailed their policy priorities and recommendations in a 26-page document, which was prepared in the lead up to the Federal Election.
