Business.gov.au publishes info on new financial year

Business.gov.au have published important dates for business owners now that Australia is in a new financial year.

Business.gov.au have published reminders of important dates relating to income tax returns, payment summaries and reports for employees, BAS, GST annual returns and taxable payments annual reports.

They have provided income tax return dates for companies and sole traders, partnerships & trusts, which are 31 October and 28 February respectively.

They are also reminding business owners with employees that they need to provide them with a payment summary, as well as lodge PAYG withholding annual reports and pay quarterly superannuation contributions.They also remind business owners to make sure they are using current tax tables for employee payments in the new financial year.

They are also reminding business owners registered for GST to get their BAS (whether it’s quarterly or monthly) and their GST annual return (if they have chosen to do one) in on time.

They have also provided a reminder for businesses in the building and construction industry to complete a Taxable payments annual report.
