The Engineers Australia Convention was held this week.
The Engineers Australia Convention, held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, commenced on Monday and concludes today. The five day Convention brings together all areas of engineering and hosts a variety of events including seminars, walking tours, workshops and conferences with national and international key speakers.
Six distinctive conferences were held focusing on leadership, mastering complex projects, practical responses to climate change, Australian Defence Engineering, Australasian Telecommunication Network & Application, as well as the 8th Australasian Congress on Applied Mechanics. There was also a focus on a leadership conference mentoring program, as well as sustainability vision.
The Convention has hosted a total of 78 keynote speakers over the last five days ranging from all fields from politicians, to business people, celebrities and engineers. Some of the keynote speakers have included Cadel Evans, Ita Buttrose, Stephen Quartermain, Adam Bandt MP, Dr Alex Zelinsky, Chief Defence Scientist and head of the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) and former Prime Minister John Howard.
The Engineers Australia Convention concludes today at 6pm AEST.
