Glaciem Cooling Technology specialises in low cost thermal energy storage technology and has received $2 million in funding through the Australian government’s renewable energy project ARENA (Australian Renewable Energy Agency) to trial their research in thermal energy storage with renewable energy. With the HVAC&R industry utilising around 22% of power in the country, the project is set to be installed in an existing ammonia cooling sytem based in Barossa Valley and hopes to produce an economic snapshot for future adoption of greener technology and increase opportunities for emissions reduction across the industry.
