Government hosting webinar series on business cyber security

The Department of Industry, Innovation and Science are hosting a webinar series on small to medium enterprise (SME) cyber security.

Business.gov.au have stated on their website that there will be five webinars in the series: Cyber security for small to medium enterprises, The cyber threat landscape for small to medium enterprises, Cyber security operational basics, Developing an effective incident response capability, and Cyber security in the Cloud and outsourcing.

The Cyber security for small to medium enterprises webinar will focus on introducing cyber security as a must have for businesses, outlining what a good approach to cyber security might involve and how SME can prepare themselves, and introducing key resources.

The cyber threat landscape for small to medium enterprises webinar will focus on why SMEs may be targets for cyber attacks, why cyber security should be a priority, and demonstrating some of the attack methods that may be used.

The Cyber security operational basics webinar will focus on the practical ways that a SME can improve its cyber security and demonstrate the need for business-wide cyber security knowledge.

The Developing an effective incident response capability will focus on minimising and stopping attacks, and developing a plan for handing cyber security incidents, which will include notifying customers of a breach.

The Cyber security in the Cloud and outsourcing webinar will focus on demonstrating the role, advantages and disadvantages of the Cloud and potential risks, as well as highlighting the security considerations when working with the Cloud.

All five webinars are being held from July until November 2017, starting at 12.30pm and are an hour in duration, and are free to attend.
