The Australian Small Business Commissioner is transitioning to the Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman and the draft legislation is out so small business owners can have their say.
The proposed roles of the Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman include being a national advocacy for small business, a dispute resolution service and an independent advice to government on small business matters.
The Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman would benefit small business owners and those who want to start a small business as the Ombudsman can help lower legal costs, help small business relationships survive difficult times and provide referrals to other government services.
The draft legislation is now open for comments to ensure that the Ombudsman can provide effective services to small and family businesses. Submissions close on Tuesday April 7 2015.
