Memorandum of Understanding between AMCA and CCCA

The Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association (AMCA) and the Climate Control Companies Association (CCCA) of New Zealand have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

AMCA, established in 1961, represents the commercial/industrial sector of the air conditioning industry. CCCA‘s mission, according to its website, is to “establish and promote high standards and business competence and industry conduct for companies engaged in the climate controlled environment industry.” Company types represented by the CCCA include, but are not limited to: mechanical services, refrigeration, heat pumps and ventilation.

The MOU details the working relationship between AMCA and CCCA, which according to the MOU has included CCCA attendance at AMCA conferences and New Zealand students participating in AMCA courses.

The MOU states that it “reflects international co-operation agreements that exist between the Australian and New Zealand governments” and aims to “encourage information exchange, assistance in policy responses, expansion of member services and building on inter-government economic agreements between the two countries.”

The MOU also emphasises the need for AMCA and CCCA to work together to achieve their aims, however it also emphasises that both associations are still independent.

The MOU was signed last month.
