Mitsubishi Electric has come under fire after an internal investigation found inconsistency in air conditioning testing since the 1980s. It is estimated that up to 84,600 train air conditioners and 1,500 air compressors for brakes may have been involved. Of the 15,800 units for export includes stock to be delivered for the NSW Government’s $2.3billion InnerCity Fleet project for carriages on train lines from Sydney to the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Blue Mountains and the South Coast.
