Temperature control is vital in the bid to reduce food wastage. With rising levels of food loss attributed to poor understanding of temperature management of storage environments, the Australian Food Cold Chain Council is advocating a new training program for the Australian cold chain industry.
While refrigeration and monitoring technologies are better than ever before, training is still necessary so that those at the logistics level responsible for transportation to consumers will be able to utilise the most out of the technology.
The initiative will be planned across a five-code series with a focus on temperature measurement.
