Registrations are open for AIRAH’s Essential Safety Measures course.
According to its brochure, the Essential Safety Measures course will provide attendees with the opportunity to “learn about the equipment and systems used for HVAC-based fire and smoke control in buildings, as well as the legislated performance requirements for these systems.”
The course will also enable attendees to use what they learn to “advise clients of what level of maintenance and performance testing is required by the Regulations and what Standard specifies must be maintained and how often.”
The course will focus on several key topics, which include: the purpose and application of fire and smoke control, an introduction to the regulatory framework, fire dampers, testing and commissioning smoke control systems, certification, and maintenance.
The course is being held in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne on May 9, May 16, and May 30 respectively. Brett Fairweather from Standards Australia will be the course presenter.
