Using the most recent climate data from November, the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) has verified that 2023 will be the hottest year ever recorded.

According to the group, there have been two record-breaking seasons and six record-breaking months this year.

According to a recent National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) report, Australia experienced its fifth-warmest Spring and ninth-warmest November on record.

The Bureau of Meteorology has also warned that Australia is likely to experience “extreme heat and heatwaves” this summer. In a statement, the Bureau said that most parts of the continent have an increased chance of “unusually high temperatures” (potentially in the top 20 percent of all time-record values) this summer.

This El Niño is expected to last until April–June 2024.
