manual-154693_1280

AIRAH’s DA09—Air Conditioning Load Estimation manual is open for comment.

AIRAH’s DA09 manual is described on their website as a “comprehensive technical manual describing ways to estimate air conditioning loads and associated psychrometrics.”

The manual is split up into nine sections: survey and load estimate, design conditions, heat storage, solar heat gain-glass, heat and moisture flow, infiltration and ventilation, internal and system heat gain, applied psychrometrics, and nomenclature and SI symbols, prefixes and derived units.

The manual also includes monthly ambient dry and wet bulb design conditions for over 500 locations in Australia, as well as various locations in Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and South East Asia.

AIRAH have opened the DA09 manual for public comment as it has been updated for the first time in 20 years. The draft is open for industry and public review until COB on 16 February.

Comments are invited on technical content, wording and general arrangement of the DA09.

The draft DA09—Air Conditioning Load Estimation, as well as more information on how and where to comment, can be found here.
