Online publications, Ammonia21.com and R744.com, have published a 2017 year in review on ammonia-based and CO2-based HVACR technology, respectively.

Both reviews focus specifically on market, end users & technology, and policy, regulation & standards.

Ammonia21.com‘s review highlighted Australian brewing company, The Stone & Wood Brewing Company, commencing use of ammonia refrigerant at their new refrigeration plant, a leading Japan food manufacturing company installing Mayekawa’s NH3/CO2 system in their warehouse, ammonia boosting efficiency at a Unilever ice cream plant in Turkey, Mayekawa debuting two low-charge ammonia chillers at the Las Vegas AHR Expo, the Kigali Amendment coming into force, and the launch of a new book which details the impact of 80 strategies on cutting greenhouse gas emissions over the last 30 years.

R744.com‘s review highlighted Woolworths opening its first transcritical CO2 store in Australia, a gourmet Australian food firm commissioning a transcritical CO2 plant with ammonia chillers, ALDI being named the number one user of transcritical CO2 refrigeration systems in the U.S. supermarket industry, Panasonic installing its first CO2 condensing unit in Malaysia, and the reclassification of CO2 under Japan’s High Pressure Gas Safety Act which will enable larger capacity CO2 systems to enter the Japanese market.

Ammonia21.com‘s review can be read here and R744.com‘s review can be read here. These reviews complement Hydrocarbons21.com’s year in review on hydrocarbon-based HVACR technology.
