The Department of Environment and Energy have announced that there will be additional HFC phase down info sessions held later this year.

Last month, RACCA Australia published an article providing details on two HFC phase down info sessions that are going to be held in Tasmania next week. Now the Department of Environment and Energy have announced that there will be additional info sessions held across the country over the next few months.

The additional info sessions will kick off in Newcastle on April 5, continuing in Chatswood (NSW) and Sydney Airport on April 6, Melbourne on April 19 and Geelong on April 20. In May, there will be a singular info session in Perth on the 18th. In June there will be sessions held in Adelaide (1st), Townsville (14th), the Gold Coast and Brisbane (both on the 15th). The additional info sessions will conclude in Darwin on July 18, however this is yet to be confirmed.

This comes four months after the initial info sessions were held in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The Department of Environment and Energy stated that the info sessions will “discuss what the HFC phase down will mean for HFC users, including equipment owners and technicians, and other changes to the (OPSGGM) program to reduce emissions and increase efficiency.”

The HFC phase down was announced by the Government in June 2016, along with other measures to reduce emissions and increase the efficiency of the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management (OPSGGM) program. The HFC phase down commenced earlier this year.

The info sessions are free to attend, however attendees must be registered. Registrations can be completed and more information can be found here.
