Skills Slider

AIRAH have released the schedule for their 2017 Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Courses.

AIRAH will host three Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Courses throughout the year–Industrial Ammonia Plant Operations, Ammonia Emergency Response and Ammonia Safety Awareness.

According to the courses’ brochure, the Industrial Ammonia Plant Operations course will run over three days in Victoria, Queensland and NSW. This course is aimed at plant operators who need to be aware of the potential hazards associated with ammonia and have a sound knowledge of how an industrial ammonia plant is operated. This course will be both theoretical and practical and will include visits to a working industrial ammonia plant. This course will be held in Victoria from May 22 to 24, in Queensland from August 21 to 23 and in NSW from November 20 to 22.

The brochure also states that the Ammonia Emergency Response course will be a one day course run in Queensland and Victoria. This course is aimed to equip participants with everything they need to know in order to handle ammonia in an emergency situation. This course is also suitable for those who have completed the Industrial Ammonia Plants Operation course and are in need of a refresher. This course will be held in Queensland on June 9 and in Victoria on September 1.

The brochure also states that the Ammonia Safety Awareness course will also run for one day, however it can be held at a business’ own facility at any time in the year. This is an introductory course that will provide information on ammonia refrigerant, legislation, Australian Standards, safety, and risk management.
