AIRAH will be holding its first webinar next week.
According to AIRAH’s website, the webinar, “The Coming Age of Smart Grids and Smart Buildings” will provide an overview of the smart grid, specifically relating to buildings and their systems.
AIRAH’s website has also emphasised that smart grids are a new and evolving field and its possible future effects.
“The smart grid is coming and in the future buildings will be interacting even more with electricity utilities. Communication will be in both directions, with the utility working to balance grid supply and demand using methods such as signalling requests for demand-response measures and real-time price adjustments.”
Dr Thomas Lawrence, Mechanical Engineering Program Co-Ordinator at the University of Georgia, will be presenting.
The webinar is being held on February 22 from 11am (AEDT), it is free for members and $33 for non-members to attend.
