AIRAH and the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

According to AIRAH’s media release, AIRAH President, Ian Harwood, and ISHRAE President, Vishal Kapur, signed the MoU in Chicago last week, pledging to “support the advancement and promotion of mutual interests of educational, technical, engineering and built environment professionals engaged in the HVAC&R and building services industry.”

AIRAH’s media release stated that the MoU will significantly strengthen ties between Australia and Asia in the HVAC&R space, with both Harwood and Kapur emphasising both the MoU’s importance and benefits.

“This MoU is vital for the Asian region, with Australia and India now co-operating to leverage the great work and experience of all our members.” Harwood stated.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for both our organisations to share valuable knowledge and work closely…together we can promote the development of standards in our industry at a critical point in time.” Kapur stated.

The key areas of the agreement revolve around membership and networking, development of standards, publications, policy statements and position statements, and cooperation on exhibitions and conferences.

More information on the Memorandum of Understanding can be found here.
