Business.gov.au have published tips for employers on how to help staff during change in business.

Business.gov.au emphasise the importance on engaging and communicating with staff as not everyone adjusts to change at the same pace or way as employers and they may not even be as accepting of it.

Business.gov.au outline several reasons for business change, which include but are not limited to: new laws requiring change to internal business processes, one business merging with another, change of management team due to staff turnover, change of business structure, business expansion and moving from one location to another.

Business.gov.au have provided multiple tips on how to communicate with staff during change, emphasising that it should be done as early as possible and repeatedly throughout. These tips include but are not limited to: clearly explaining the reasons for the change, being honest, answering questions from staff, breaking things down into smaller do-able tasks, communicating with staff as often as possible and through different means, getting senior staff members involved early on and supporting staff throughout the change.

Business.gov.au’s tips and more information can be found and read in full here.
