
From today onwards, changes to the Pandemic Leave Disaster Payment come into effect.
Those who have tested positive to COVID-19, are caring for someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, or have been identified as a close contact are eligible for the payment.
These are the key changes:
- anyone who has lost or expects to lose 20 hours or more of work will be entitled to a $750 payment
- anyone who has lost at least a day of work, or has lost less than 20 hours of work, will be entitled to a $450 payment
- recipients must qualify a financial hardship test of having less than $10,000 in available fund.
Claims must be made within 14 days from the start of the isolation period.
