FEATURE: ARC expertise tapped to shape future of industry training

Last week, RACCA Australia published an article on RACCA President, Kevin O’Shea’s, appointment on AISC’s Industry Reference Committee (IRC) for Electrotechnology. Now the Australian Refrigeration Council’s (ARC) Technical and Training Manager, Noel Munkman, has accepted a place on the Committee.

According to ARC’s media release, ARC’s inclusion on a refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) Industry Reference Committee “ensures that the views and needs of technicians will be heard and considered in shaping the future of RAC training in Australia.”

Munkman emphasised the importance of the Electrotechnology IRC and how he feels about being a part of it.

“This specific IRC is responsible for the UEE11 Electrotechnology Training Package and will drive priorities for the review and development of future training.

“To be a part of this high-level decision making group is a humbling experience and it is one which will allow the ARC to make sure training for technicians keeps up with the pace of change, and ensure high quality technicians well into the future.”

ARC CEO Glenn Evans was equally excited about the appointment.

“ARC sits on various committees and groups to ensure the interests of the RAC industry are represented. Being asked to sit on the IRC puts ARC in a valuable position to help shape training for industry and contribute to a dynamic, safe and environmentally friendly climate control sector. This appointment is a key pillar of ARC’s strategy to future-proof the sector.”

ARC states in their media release that the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) consists of industry leaders from across Australia to provide leadership to the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.
