Online publication, Hydrocarbons21.com, have published a 2016 year in review on natural refrigerants.
Published last month, the review focuses on policy, markets and technology, end users, and events, all over the world.
In regards to policy, the review focused on new opportunities for hydrocarbons highlighting the Kigali Amendment, a draft European Commission report on the wider rollout of hydrocarbons as HFC alternatives, the OEWG 38 in Vienna, Shecco’s report on the effects of the EU F-Gas Regulation, the US’ SNAP programme, and how the election of Donald Trump as the next US President could influence hydrocarbon adoption.
In regards to markets and technology, the review focused on research highlighting the benefits of using R290.
In regards to end users, the review focused on companies who have decided to test and/or use hydrocarbons as part of their work or brand for the first time, and the sustainability results associated with their choices.
In regard to events, the review focused on the Gustav Lorentzen Conference held in Edinburgh, the China Refrigeration conference held in Beijing and the AHR Expo held in Orlando.
