Online F-Gas Regulation Guide released

An online F-Gas Regulation Guide has been released to provide guidance to the European cooling industry on abiding by the new F-Gas regulations.

The Guide, which has been compiled by Gluckman Consulting and Jacobs on behalf of Defra, can be found on the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Magazine’s website. The Guide consists of information sheets that range between one to 12 pages that can be downloaded for free.

The Guide provides vital information for end user sectors, contractors, manufacturers and importers.The vital information for end user sectors covers domestic refrigeration, commercial refrigeration, industrial refrigeration, transport refrigeration, stationary air conditioning and heat pumps and mobile air conditioners. The vital information for contractors, manufacturers and importers covers fire regulation systems contractors, F-Gas wholesalers, producers, importers, exporters, customer screening, annual reporting, as well as refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump contractors and manufacturers.

The Guide also contain important information on understanding the CO2 threshold, flammability issues, the HFC phase down process and low GWP alternatives, as well as information on training and certification.

F-Gas Regulations came into effect across Europe on January 1.
