Role of licensed technicians in reducing energy costs

A new video from the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) and the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is now out as part of their Summer Campaign! This short and simple video shows how licensed refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC) technicians help keep your appliances running well — and how that can save you money.

At ARC, they know that well-maintained appliances use less energy. That’s why they’re encouraging everyone to call a licensed technician when it’s time for a service. Regular servicing can make a big difference in how much energy your fridge or air conditioner uses. Less energy use means lower power bills.

Glenn Evans, ARC’s CEO, said that looking after your appliances is a smart way to cut costs.
“Regular servicing by licensed technicians not only keeps appliances running efficiently but also helps consumers save on their cost of living,” he said.

The video also reminds people that licensed technicians follow proper industry standards. That means they don’t just save you money — they also help protect the environment by making sure everything runs efficiently.

This campaign is part of ARC’s promise to support both the HVAC&R industry and everyday Australians. Whether it’s your fridge, air conditioner, or another appliance, regular check-ups by a skilled RAC technician can extend its life and reduce your energy use.
