The Big 5 International Building & Construction Show commences today.

Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the Big 5 will display over 35,000 products from over 2,700 exhibitors from all over the world. The products on display come in all shapes and sizes and from many industries. The products include but are not limited to: building services, concrete & related products, construction tools, conveying ststems, decorative products, electrical systems, facilities management services, finishes, fire suppression & protection, landscaping products, plumbing & water technology, safety & security equipment, windows & doors, bathrooms & kitchens, solar energy and HVAC.

The Big 5 will also provide free CPD certified workshops as well as LEED Workshops.

The Gaia Awards–which acknowledge companies in the construction industry whose products and services reduce environmental impacts– will be presented during the Sustainable Design and Construction Conference tomorrow. Entries from two Australian companies–Magnesium Oxide Board Corporation and Radcrete Pacific have been shortlisted for the Awards.

According to its official website, last year was a record breaking year for the Big 5 with 2,747 exhibitors from 58 countries, 74,854 participants from 124 countries, 684 Platinum Club members and 148 free educational events.

The Big 5 International Building & Construction Show will commence at 11am local time and will finish on Wednesday 20 November.
