Business.gov.au’s tips focus on essential items and design features, which include: branding, contact information, site search function, call to action, site navigation, images, typography and content.
The branding tips focus on making sure a business’ brand is easy to see, has a great accompanying headline and is consistent with printed branding and marketing materials.
The contact information tips focus on ensuring that a business’ contact information is easily accessible to both current and prospective customers.
The site search function tips focus on a business’ website search function to ensure that it both stands out and is capable of providing information to users.
The call to action tips ask business owners what they want their users to do on their website and how to make the call of action stand out.
The site navigation tips focus on helping both current and prospective customers find the different areas of a business’ website.
The images tips emphasise how images can enhance a business’ website, especially when they are relevant and of high quality.
The typography tips focus on the art and technique of arranging print, specifically making sure that the text is consistent and easy for users to read.
The content tips focus on making sure content is easy to read, relevant and not too long.
