AIRAH will be running their Essential Safety Measures (ESM) course again in 2018.
AIRAH stated on its flyer that the ESM course will cover “the equipment and systems used for HVAC-based fire and smoke control in buildings, as well as the legislated performance requirements for these systems.”
AIRAH also stated on the flyer that the course will enable attendees to “find out what is necessary for maintenance to the requirements of state and territory legislation and the Australian Standard AS 1851-2012: Routine service of fire protection systems and equipment.”
The topics that will be covered in the course include: maintenance of essential services, purpose and application of fire and smoke control, introduction to the regulatory framework, fire dampers, testing and commissioning smoke control systems, and certification.
The ESM course is being held in Hobart on February 20, Melbourne on February 22, Brisbane on February 27 and Sydney on March 2. AIRAH recommends registering now as places are limited to 25 people per course.
More information on the ESM course, including costs and where to register, can be found here.
