AIRAH are holding one-day courses on smoke control and fire dampers safety.
The courses will focus specifically on AS/NZS 1668.1 (The use of ventilation and air conditioning in buildings–fire and smoke control in buildings).
According to AIRAH’s website, the courses will focus on several key topics, including but not limited to: purpose and application of fire and smoke control, fire protection of openings, system activation and operation, testing and commissioning smoke control systems, and purpose and application of fire and smoke dampers.
AIRAH’s website also states that the courses will be presented by Brett Fairweather, a member of Standard Australia’s ME-062 subcommittees, which are responsible for Standards on fire and smoke control, as well as mechanical and natural ventilation of buildings.
The courses are being held in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth on August 3, September 6, September 13 and October 25, respectively.
