Application fees for RAC licences rise next year

Application fees for Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) licences will rise next month.

The Australian Refrigeration Council’s (ARC) website states that “under the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Regulations (1995), Regulation 346 provides for the annual indexation of permit application fees. The annual indexation formula uses the Wage Price Index (WPI) figures, published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Due to the WPI figures released this year, RAC licence application fees will increase by 2.5% from 1 January 2015.”

The ARC website has uploaded a table comparing the current fees with next year’s increased fees. The table covers the two-year refrigerant handling licence, the one-year restricted refrigerant handling licence, the one-year trainee refrigerant handling licence, the one-year and two-year refrigerant trading authorisation permits and the two-year restricted refrigerant trading authorisation permit.

The table comparing the current and next year’s increased fees can be found here.

Further information about the changes to the permit fees can be found on the Department of the Environments website or on the ARC website.
