The Office of Environment & Heritage are running an Energy Efficiency HVAC for Business course next week.

According to The Office of Environment & Heritage’s website, the course is designed to provide a structured approach to achieving energy efficient HVAC for buildings.

The courses consists of three separate modules–Introduction to energy efficient HVAC, Energy efficient HVAC optimisation strategies and Energy efficient HVAC operation and maintenance strategies. The three modules are designed to be separate so businesses are able to attend the modules that are best for their business. Businesses can choose to attend one, two or all three modules.

Module 1–Introduction to energy efficient HVAC–will focus on gaining an understanding about HVAC’s impact on business energy use. This module is being held in Sydney and Newcastle on March 19 and March 24 respectively. It is recommended that building owners, executive managers, sustainability and environment officers and other building managers attend this module.

Module 2–Energy efficient HVAC optimisation strategies–will focus on effective ways to optimise energy use in existing systems. This module is being held in Sydney and Newcastle on March 20 and March 25 respectively. It is recommended that anyone directly involved in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of HVAC systems, such as facility managers and technicians, attend this module.

Module 3–Energy efficient HVAC operations and maintenance strategies–will focus on energy management planning, training and awareness to achieve long lasting results. This module is being held in Sydney and Newcastle on March 20 and March 25 respectively. Like with Module 2, it is recommended that anyone directly involved in the day-to-day operations and maintenance of HVAC systems, such as facility managers and technicians, attend this module.

Each module runs for four hours and the costs are subsidised by the NSW Government. Participants are required to bring an inventory of HVAC equipment on site with them.

A one-on-one on site visit is also on offer which will involve a site inspection, a discussion session to identify energy efficient upgrade opportunities and post-training support opportunities. This offer is only available to those who have attended at least one of the training modules.

Post-training support is also on offer to those who have completed the one-on-one site visit. This support provides businesses access to $3,000 worth of support for $300. This support involves implementing energy efficiency opportunities previously identified through the training modules and one-on-one site visit.

More information on the Energy Efficiency HVAC for Business course including module times, locations and content, as well as information on the one-on-one site visit and post-training support, can be found here.
