Learning Slider

The Fair Work Ombudsman have released a new online course for employers focusing on record-keeping and pay slips.

The Fair Work Ombudsman’s Online Learning Centre emphasises that “good record-keeping practices are vital for employers to meet their legal obligations, keep track of how their business is going, and make informed decisions about the future.”

The Centre also states that the course will teach employers how to “make, update and manage employment records for their business”.

The course consists of four modules focusing on a variety of topics, which include: guidance on when to make, update and provide records for employees, advice on what to include in pay slips, details about legal obligations under the Fair Work Act, tips on setting up a record-keeping system, and links to resources and other information. The course also contains interactive elements, which include quiz questions and audio. A Certificate of Completion is available to download on completion of the course.

This is the latest free course available at the Fair Work Ombudsman’s Online Learning Centre. Last year, the Fair Work Ombudsman released eight online courses for employers, managers and employees–Managing Performance, Hiring Employees, Difficult Conversations in the Workplace for Managers, Diversity and Discrimination, Workplace Flexibility, Managing Employees, Starting a New Job (this is an employee course), and Difficult Conversations in the Workplace for Employees.

The Fair Work Ombudsman’s Online Learning Centre, and the Record-Keeping and Pay Slips course can be found here.
