Future of HVAC 2017 speakers announced

AIRAH have announced the speakers for their Future of HVAC 2017 Conference.

AIRAH have announced on their website that there will be 10 speakers in total: Paul Bannister from Energy Action, Peter Barry from BHP, Tiffany Cheung and Johanna Trickett from Aurecon, Jonathon Clarke from Norman Disney & Young, Alan Fok from AIRAH, Anthony Harrigan from CAREL, Joe Scholz from QED Environmental Services, and two yet-to-be named speakers from QED Environment Services and Oberix.

Paul Bannister will be speaking about Section J of Volume 1 of the National Construction Code, which is due to be updated in 2019. He will be specifically speaking about a study Energy Action undertook on Section J, and the proposed measures affecting fans and pump systems that came from the study.

Peter Barry will be speaking about case studies from BHP facilities across the Pilbara region and addressing the difficulties for HVAC systems posed by harsh mining environments and the measures used to rectify the difficulties and issues posed.

Tiffany Cheung and Johanna Trickett will be speaking about the challenges that the Passive House standard introduces to the Australian HVAC industry.

Jonathon Clarke will be speaking about the design and technology behind Smart Buildings, and will provide examples of buildings that have been successfully designed as Smart Buildings.

Anthony Harrigan will be speaking about the benefits of integration between heat pumps and food refrigeration systems for commercial applications, highlighting a case study of the integration of commercial heat pumps equipped with new generation refrigerants.

Joe Scholz from QED Environmental Services will be speaking about how HVAC professionals can provide better NABERS Indoor Environment and Energy ratings.

The yet-to-be-named speaker from QED Environmental Services will be speaking about creating a better indoor environment through innovative technologies, and how these technologies can be applied to HVAC operation and maintenance systems. The yet-to-be-named speaker from Oberix will be speaking about virtual 3D models of smart buildings.

The AIRAH website didn’t specify what Alan Fok would be speaking about.

The Future of HVAC 2017 Conference is being held at Doltone House, Sydney, from September 13 to 14. More information can be found here.
