The Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturers Association of Australia (AREMA) and the Consumer Electronics Supplier Association (CESA) have prepared a fact sheet with all the need-to-know information on the R32 refrigerant.
According to the fact sheet, this information was prepared as a service to the air conditioning industry, the general public and other stakeholders who have an interest in technologies to reduce the environmental impact of air conditioning appliances.
The fact sheet contains information as to why manufacturers are changing to R32 refrigerant, what its flammability classification means, how easy R32 is to ignite, why the R32 Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) says “extremely flammable”, R32 toxicity class, what happens to the products of decomposition and if R32 causes cancer.
The fact sheet also states that it has presented a summary of extensive independent research that has been carried out by test laboratories, universities and government institutions around the world.
