Don’t forget while you are celebrating Easter with your loved ones that daylight savings ends this weekend.
Daylight savings ends this Sunday (April 5) at 3am in the ACT, NSW, SA, VIC and Tasmania with the clocks going one hour backwards. Daylight savings doesn’t apply in the NT, WA or Queensland.
For businesses who have employees that will be working during the change over, the Fair Work Ombudsman recommends employers check the relevant award, registered agreement or employment contract in regards to paying their employees.
The Fair Work Ombudsman website states that if the relevant award, registered agreement or employment contract doesn’t say anything about daylight savings, employees who work overnight when it ends are paid according to the clock.
