The case studies to be presented at ATMOsphere Australia 2017 have been announced.
According to articles by r744.com and ATMOsphere’s official website, the ATMOsphere Review Panel selected new case studies from: Bitzer, McAlpine Hussman, Woolworths Engineering Services, AJ Baker & Sons, MHI Australia, Mayekawa Australia, SCM Frigo, CAREL Australia, Emerson, CRS, KAV Consulting and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, to be presented.
According to R744.com’s article, Bitzer’s presentation will focus on “overall system efficiency to a booster system featuring parallel compression by optimising the operational pressures within the parallel compression stage.” It will also discuss how their recently developed control package will prevent end users from having to complete complex programming.
McAlpine Hussman’s presentation will focus on their transition from HFC refrigerants to natural refrigerants, specifically secondary cascade CO2 and transcritical CO2.
Woolworths Engineering Services’ presentation will focus on their leadership in using low GWP refrigerants and their current transition towards very low HFC or HFC-free systems.
AJ Baker and Sons’ presentation will focus on gas cooler outlet temperatures and transcritical CO2 systems in Australian supermarkets.
MHI Australia’s presentation will focus on a case study of a resort in North Queensland replacing their heat pumps with Q-ton CO2 technology.
Mayekawa Australia’s presentation will focus on the operation of a NH3/CO2 cascade system on an industrial freeze drying application.
SCM Frigo’s presentation will focus on a test the company has completed on a booster unit measuring performance.
CAREL Australia’s presentation will focus on eight transcritical CO2 installations in four Australian states.
Emerson’s presentation will focus on their recently opened Helix Innovation Center.
CRS’ presentation will focus on one of its projects involving blast freezing avocados with CO2.
KAV Consulting’s presentation will focus on their design of Multi-Function Two Stage Transcritical CO2 Refrigeration Systems, and Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ presentation will focus on their turbo chiller which uses R718 (water) as refrigerant.
This year’s event is the second ATMOsphere Australia, following the success of last year’s inaugural ATMOsphere Australia, which was held the day before the launch of ARBS 2016.
ATMOsphere Australia 2017 is being held on 2 May at Luna Park.
