Two months ago, RACCA Australia published an article on the launch of this year’s I love my local business competition and two weeks ago, RACCA Australia published an article on voting being open and the 25 shortlisted businesses for the People’s Choice Award.

Now NSW Fair Trading have announced the winners of the I love my local business competition.

The winners of the competition came from all over NSW–the Sydney Metropolitan region, the Hunter-Central Coast region and the Northern, Southern and Western NSW region.

The winner in the Sydney Metropolitan region is the Camera Service Centre. The winner in the Hunter-Central Coast region is Shine Hair & Beauty in Clarence Town. The winner in the Northern NSW region is Ken Little’s Quality Fruit & Veg in Port Macquarie. The winner in the Southern NSW region is White Tyre and Mechanical in Tumbarumba and the winner in the Western NSW region is Barker’s Butchery in Oberon.

Annie’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlour in Bathurst won the 2014 People’s Choice Award.

According to a NSW Fair Trading media release, Minister for Small Business John Barilaro stated that “this (I love my local business) is a fantastic competition and highlights the broad range of products and services small businesses have to offer consumers across NSW.” Barilaro also stated that small businesses are constantly involved in their local communities and make enormous contributions to the state economy.

The I love my local business competition ask consumers to describe in 60 words or less what they love about their local business and how their favourite business delivers great service. This year, over 700 entries were received.
