Nominations are open for AMCA’s and AREMA’s 2017 Industry Educational Trade Scholarship.
This will be the second year that the Industry Educational Trade Scholarship will be awarded to five commercial refrigeration and air conditioning students and their teachers, following the success of last year’s inaugural program, which received positive feedback from its winners.
AREMA’s website states that the Scholarship program provides commercial refrigeration and air conditioning students through TAFE “the opportunity to train at one of the industry’s premier educational institutions–the Refrigeration and Climate Control Centre of Excellence (RCCC) in Melbourne.”
The aim of the Scholarship program is to increase the quality of trained tradespeople, reward students to successfully complete their trade training, develop positive attitudes and applications in the workplace and in training, and to support the professional development of industry teachers.
The Scholarship program was established by AMCA and AREMA following their 2015 review of industry skills requirements where they identified ways to upskill and prepare new and current trainees in the industry. The program is supported by ARBS, with last year’s winners being revealed shortly after ARBS 2016.
This year’s two-week course will be held from 3-7 July and 2-6 October. Nominations are open until COB Wednesday April 5 with the winners being announced in late April.
